Holly & Darren’s Washington DC Sunrise Engagement Session | Lincoln & Jefferson Memorial

Holly & Darren are Penn State sweethearts. They wanted to incorporate a piece of the East Coast into their engagement before they get married in warm & sunny California next year, so they opted for a Washington DC sunrise engagement session.

There is something so serene about morning sessions. There’s a beautiful stillness in the air and the monuments that are usually packed with tourists are near vacant and peaceful. Although sunrise sessions may require waking at 5AM, it’s so worth it!

Despite road closures due to the DC Santa run that morning, we successfully arrived at the Lincoln Memorial right as the sun was peeking behind the Washington Monument. We roamed the walkways around the Reflecting Pool and headed for a good 20 minute walk to the Jefferson Memorial for more photos. We survived the bitter cold and wind with our pockets stuffed with hand warmers! It may have been an early and cold morning, but it sure was a beautiful session with these two!
